Management team

Tim is the Managing Director of Robert West Consulting and responsible for developing strategy and people, managing the performance of the business and business development.

After leaving Durham University with an Honours degree in Engineering Science, Tim joined Rendell, Palmer & Tritton and trained as a Marine Engineer. During 12 years with RPT, Tim was involved in the design and construction of major port projects throughout the world, gaining particular experience of oil and LNG facilities and large port developments in Libya and the Middle East. He also worked on a number of roll-on and roll-off facilities throughout the UK.

Tim joined Robert West in 1987 and was appointed Managing Partner in 1991. He was responsible for managing the Partnership through the recession of the early nineties into a period of growth and incorporating the business in 1994. In 2000 he was instrumental in negotiating the acquisition of companies into the business and re-capitalisation into its current structure. During this period he has developed strong financial and commercial skills.

Throughout his career at Robert West, Tim has developed and maintained close personal contact with clients. He remains closely involved with the delivery of projects and has been responsible for securing a number of major framework agreements with Government and private organisations and overseeing their successful delivery. His professional experience covers commercial and leisure based marine engineering, development, railways and infrastructure.
