CASE STUDY

Berrylands Station project addresses the poor condition of existing platforms. Works involve demolishing timber platforms and constructing new pile foundations and steel sections.

Robert West reviewed the station emergency plan and consulted with the Capable Owner and NwR Fire Engineer to confirm no changes to the existing management plan were needed.

Working toward a positive outcome, Robert West:

  • Collaborated with the piling contractor to develop a suitable, buildable foundation solution based on ground conditions and load requirements.
  • Engaged with the GRP manufacturer to incorporate innovative, lightweight components into the platform design for efficient installation and durability.
  • Coordinated with the M&E designer to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems within the overall design, avoiding clashes and improving buildability.
